About Chennakesava Temple

On the banks of the Cauvery River, Chennakesava Temple built-in 1268 by Somnatha, a general of King Narasimha III. The temple sits like other Hoysala temples on an elevated base. Three shrines and three carved peaks with a popular Mandapa compose the temple. Beautifully carved statues of Keshava, Janardhana, and I once installed Venugopala in the three sanctums.
